   Take a left exiting the airport area, on Edgartown-West Tisbury Road.   Go about 400’, and take a left on Airport Road.  When you come to the blinker (the only one on the Island), take a left on
Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road.  After about 3 miles, take a short right on State Road,  Turn left at the bank, and you will be on MAIN STREET, Vineyard Haven. Follow the directions from MAIN STREET, below.

-If you arrive by the Steamship Authority car ferry from Woods Hole it may in Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard. (Check your schedule)


FROM OAK BLUFFS ferry landing: You will be on Lake Street as you exit the ferry.  Lake Street turns into NEW YORK AVENUE, going west to Vineyard Haven.  After about 1+ mile, take a left on TEMADIGAN, then a right at EASTVILLE, and  left at BEACH ROAD.  BEACH ROAD takes you across the drawbridge into Vineyard Haven.  Continue to 5 CORNERS, continue another block, and take the first left on MAIN STREET.  See FROM MAIN STREET, below.

FROM VINEYARD HAVEN ferry landing: take the first left as you come out of the ferry staging area.  You will be on Water Street.  Then, take the first right at 5 Corners, on the continuation of BEACH ROAD  (The same street you’ll be on if you arrive from Oak Bluffs, changing name at 5 corners to SOUTH MAIN STREET,)   

Go one block from 5 CORNERS and take the first right on MAIN STREET into downtown Vineyard Haven.

 FROM MAIN STREET, go about 1/2 mile through town and take a left on DAGGETT AVENUE.  Go another 1/2 mile, almost to the end of DAGGETT AVENUE.  Look for 299 on the right hand side below a black mailbox.
(Turn back if you enter STONE GATE, or if you see HERRING CREEK ROAD on your right (which is the dirt road going one mile down to the Tashmoo Beach))
Take a right, at the 299 Daggett sign, and head down hill on the clamshell driveway.
TASHMOO COTTAGE is the second house, on the right hand side of the driveway.
The HIDEAWAY, is the third house on the driveway.
     The “OLD WING” is on the left side of the Hideaway, or at the West end. Enter the Old Wing parking area before you come to the long HIDEAWAY house.  The glass slider front door is on the South side of the home.  There is a sign saying “Old Wing”.
     The “NEW WING” is on the right side, or at the East end, of the long Hideaway house.  Go past the long, HIDEAWAY house, and head uphill to the circular driveway in front of the East end entrance.  A sign at the entrance says “ Hideaway, New Wing”.

     A fenced in MANAGER’S UNIT separate the two HIDEAWAY units. You may find  Gary there if you need help.

Tashmoo Cottage and Hideaway, is located just one–and-a-half mile from the Vineyard Haven ferry dock (www.steamshipauthority.com) on the peninsula of West Chop. 
      World class shopping, dining and entertainment are within reach of an evening stroll in Vineyard Haven, also called Tisbury.  Yet, the 2acre family compound is set 150 feet off the paved road, in a quiet, lush setting -away from it all. A dreamy white clamshell driveway connects the homes, while plantings and screening provide privacy for each designated outdoor living area.  Green areas are available for all to play, like in a little village.  Rent one home and have perfect tranquility, or rent all three for a family or friends gathering.  Management is available on site.

       The neighborhood Mink Meadow Golf (www.minkmeadowgolf) is bordering the one-and-a-half mile dirt road from the front steps, of either home, to the secluded Tashmoo Beach www.tashmoocottage.com/marthasvineyard.php/1/Tashmoo-Beach.  The beach is a perfect morning jog for the active in the family, or a fun bike ride away for young kids.  The shallow lagoon welcomes the exploring wader on the inside of the pond, while the ocean waves on the ocean side accommodates mature swimmers. A lifeguard is posted summers between 10AM and 5PM.  There is parking for 15-20 cars at the beach.
       Owen Park Town Dock and Tisbury Town Dock with a public boat launching ramp, are equally near, as are two public tennis courts at no admission fees.  Visitors Shellfish Permits and information on kids programs can be researched at the charming white town hall on Spring Street, or online. (www.tisburyma.virtualtownhall.net) Several dirt roads in the area are worth exploring on foot or by bike.

       The Island Shuttle makes a stop at Franklin Street, just 1/4 mile up on Daggett Avenue (www.mvtour.com) for wider island exploration if you leave your car at home.
